Local Spooky Halloween Events

Alt

Halloween has origins in the ancient festival of Samhain which celebrates the end of the lighter half of the year and the beginning of the darker half. Now of course the festival is associated with trick-or-treating, costume parties and ghost tours. Whatever you are celebrating, there are a number of events in the local area:

On Friday 30th, Northamptonshire Ironstone Railway are putting on a ghost train through the country park with special halloween food and visits from the head less man and other spooky guests. Find out more about this event.

On Saturday 31st, there is a night of spooky antics in Salcey Forest. The cafe witches have cooked up some halloween food and fruit punch! Find out more about this event.

Also on Saturday 31st, you can slip on your halloween costume and join the Hartwell Conservative Club for a BBQ and karaoke! Find out more about this event.

If you or your kids are planning on going out trick-or-treating, the police have issued some guidelines.

Hartwell Parish Council

Alt

The Parish Council have approved the use of hartwellvillage.com as their primary online presence, and over the coming few months they will be adding more useful information for residents.

The Council see the site as an excellent community resource for the village and village groups, and we are very grateful that they have also agreed to provide annual funding to help cover some of the costs of running the site.

The next Parish Council meeting is on Tuesday 3rd November, and you can also read the minutes and agendas from meetings on the site.

At hartwellvillage.com we appreciate not everyone can or wants to attend meetings, so we have made it our mission to provide you with an unofficial independent report from each meeting - read our report from the last meeting.

The New Website

We are really pleased with the response to the new site that we have received - it is great to see village groups like the GuidesBrownies , Conservative Club, Pre-School, WI, Parish Council and Friends of Hartwell Primary School all using the site, as well as groups further afield like the Towcester Choral Society, Northamptonshire Ironstone Railway and Wildlife Trust BCNP Towcester Group.

Don't forget that anyone can add a community group or business onto the site at no charge!

We have a whole host of updates planned for the site, including improvements to the village map and adding search and filter functions. If you have any suggestions regarding the site just let us know (either by email or on the forum).
