Wind energy prospect near Hartwell

A Bristol based renewable energy firm has lodged a planning application with South Northants Council for the erection of a 60m wind monitoring mast to investigate the power generation potential of a site North of Hartwell, and to the East of Roade, by the disused railway North of Rowley Wood.

Northants ACRE Best Village Competition

Hartwell Parish Council decided to enter this year's best village competition, Hartwell has entered before and WON (1998) and the Parish Council thought that as the village is on the cusp of launching the Parish Plan project it might be a nice idea to see what ‘outsiders’ thought of the village and what the community has to offer!

Electricity fire spectacle leaves villagers without power

Back in June, the junction box on the top of the ivy covered telegraph pole at the junction of Kitts Close and Forest Road ignited, giving out sparks and load crackling, which sounded like a mini-fireworks display.

The resultant damage left half the village without power as the circuits were made safe.

Website changes afoot

It has been just over a year since the Hartwell Village community website was launched, and the response has been fantastic!

However we are now looking at ways to make the site even better!
