The Bus + Mobile Skate Park

On Saturday 19th December, Hartwell will host the Towcester Partnership youth bus and mobile skate park.

The bus (formerly used by the likes of Kanye West) is fully fitted out with games areas, laptops and quiet areas. As well as the bus and the skate park, there will also be live music from a youth band from Roade and refreshments!

This will be a great opportunity to liaise with the kids in the village in find out what facilities and services are required - Hartwell has £25,000 from planning gain to invest in youth facilities.

You can find out more about the event, and youth provision, from the Parish Council page on hartwellvillage.com

Christmas Rubbish & Recycling Collection Arrangements

Every year South Northants Council change the rubbish and recycling collection dates over Christmas, and every year I forgot. To remind myself and everyone else in the village, the dates are now up on the website  - we will also be tweeting and updating Facebook the day before each collection day!

There is also a summary of the leaflet "Guide to improved recycling services" in case you have forgotten what goes in which box/bin.

Broadband Speeds in Hartwell

There has been an interesting discussion on the village forum about the state of Broadband in the village.

There seems to be a massive difference between ISP providers and also whereabouts in the village you are!

thearchitect is struggling to get download speeds of better than 0.5MB/s

Whereas some of us are getting speeds of upto about 3 MB/s

We will shortly be putting together some information on what the village can do to try and improve our broadband, as well as building an app on the site which will let people add their speeds (and location) at different times of day, so that we have a more detailed view of speeds (and which ISPs are better in the village).

In the meantime you can contribute to the discussion here: http://www.hartwellvillage.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=5156

Featured Group: Hartwell Home Workers

Alt

Hartwell Home Workers is a group which organises an informal monthly lunch for people who work at home, either running their own business or working for someone else. It is primarily a networking meeting, as often we don't know what services are available on our doorstep!

The next meeting is on Thursday 17th December at Rose & Crown - there are a few photos from the last meeting on Facebook
